Bible Commentaries provide the notes, comments, and explanations of biblical scholars on the many verses of the Bible. Commentaries range in size and complexity and the first step into the world of commentaries is a Study Bible. The ESV Study Bible is a great one, as is the classic NIV Study Bible .
Going deeper in your study, you may want even more information than a Study Bible provides. The NIV Life Application Commentary (NIVAC) devotes nearly an entire volume to each and every book of the Bible. That ought to keep you busy.
For those comfortable and familiar with Bible Commentaries, here’s a guide to the best commentaries for each book of the Bible.
This is a remarkable resource: video class sessions of seminary courses taught by today’s top Bible scholars and seminary professors. Current classes available online:

CoreDoctrine is Cru’s online doctrine class, covering everything from soteriology (the study of Salvation) to eschatology (the study of the End Times). The only catch is that you need a Cru staff member as a designated mentor in order to sign up. Just ask any staff member you know.
The Community studies are unlike any other Bible Study series. Uniquely, the Leaders Guide contains a very thorough commentary on the Bible passage. The studies themselves follow a Christ-centered format that exposes both the heart problem and the Christ solution. The Community is available for free.
